We have
a great year this year so far, and people are starting to notice Accomplishments in the task of helping the poor third world people. We have representatives of a group from Haiti visiting today.
In an attempt to create more jobs here locally we are designing and building several new products here in Rhode Island. It is interesting to note that the way we are financing this bring back the jobs project is with the profits we make from importing goods from China and India that we cannot purchase here anyway. The antiquated marking systems of many large manufacturers in the USA have us locked out. They leave us no choice but to go elsewhere for our products. We quietly started this program several years ago, and our sales of these products are gradually increasing. The economy has been off this year, and that isn’t helping us very much, but things will get better gradually. We must all be patient. Some of the products we are manufacturing and marketing very successfully are: Terra Cyclone Automotive Battery Restoration Chemicals, The Steady Cam Speed Stick for video cameras, The Non Destructive, Non invasive Plant and Animal Shelf, The Jewelry Tree, The Super Earring Rack, and we are currently working on the lightest handicapped scooter in the world. We are also expanding our video Advertising and Film Production business, and we do make Web Site advertising videos for our clients. All of this work has to be performed locally, and it would not be possible without the income our main web site www.chinadepot.com It also pays for the diet diary blog. I will be commenting more about this in the future.

I am sure that by this time we are all aware of the unpredictable fluctuations in the cost of energy. As a matter of fact, one of these days the price of fuel is going up and will stay up. It is absolutely unavoidable. Fuel costs are are triggering the next revolution in the housing industry. People cannot afford to keep their larger more expensive homes. It is hitting the retirees on fixed, lower incomes first first. The inflated real estate prices drove up up the tax evaluations of all homes. When the bottom fell out of the economy the states, cities and towns did not lower the rates in most cases. The states, cities and towns have grown so used to spending our money recklessly to support the empires that they have built for themselves that they are now helplessly caught in a trap of their own making. So the retired folks are having to sell their homes that they work so hard for and have to create an entire new life style that is not always very pleasant. I have a very good friend who has been forced into moving into a high rise for the elderly, or as I call them “The Brick Prisons.” Well, he hates it there, but he is never coming out unless one of his children takes him, and his wife in. That is not going to happen. This scenario is happening again and again. It’ a life sentence for the elderly. Know this, right now. The politicians that run your town understand this problem full well, but their solutions is to go right on with the empire building and the reckless spending, and keep the tax money flowing by forcing the elderly and disadvantaged out of their homes and into the streets. That way the real estate guys get the cut on the resale of the property, and the town gets “fresh meat” younger families with higher incomes that are able to pay these ridiculous taxes caused by politicians that would lose money running a lemonade stand with no rent and all the supplies.free! Well anyway, that house of cards will collapse one of these days, but in the meantime we all have to plan for our own futures. This is where the planning comes in.
The way things are going in my town it looks like I will have to eventually sell my home. My taxes are off the wall and even though we built an energy efficient home ten years ago, it is clear that when fuel oil hits $4.00 a gallon as it did here last winter, we are hurting. I realize that we are not alone in this situation. Before I get caught in a trap here, I plan to solve the problem on my terms. We have recently built a tiny test bed of a micro home that we are now studying and developing many ideas for people to live in much, much more economically. The new home will be larger than our test bed, but will be totally off the power grid. Here is what we have accomplished already. Several smaller home designs that are totally off the power grid. A complete solar power system to provide all electricity , A lighting system using the new light emitting diodes that save 90% of the power used for lighting, an odorless composting toilet with built in urine separator that we manufacture ourselves. solar hot air heating and cooling systems using both ground water and solar heated water storage tanks, and solar hot water heaters, a wind power system. These are just a few of the things we have done already. I plan to discuss this in greater detail in the coming week so we can help you plan for your own future. I am out of time today.
