I am 226 pounds today and am very pleased about that. My new diet is working so far.

Repeating some of the rules.

  1. No alcohol at all.
  2. No sugar at all
  3. Stay under 1500 calories a day.
  4. No junk food or greasy food at all.
  5. Eat fresh fruit.
  6. Snacking on a lot of prunes.
  7. Oatmeal type cereals for breakfast. I always have 2 cups of coffee with just flavored creamer, half a banana, dish of prunes, a slice of wheat toast. I make the bread myself so I know what’s in it including no chemicals. In case you are wondering, the kids gave me a bread machine so it’s really easy to make wheat bread.
  8. I brew about a quart of green tea every morning and over the course of the day I drink the entire pot.
  9. Use very little to no salt. Ask your doctor.
  10. Remember that diet dinners are less than $3.00 each in the super market on sale, and they save you from a lot of calorie counting. Most of them are under 300 calories. They are designed by nutritionists to give you the proper electrolytes that your heart needs to function properly. I also eat at least half a banana every morning.

Today’s Lunch will be a cup of soup, a slice of home made wheat bread, a small yogurt. and a small glass of skim milk. Then I will snack on dry prunes or a banana until dinner and drink the rest of my green tea. I sometimes drink a diet soda to get some sweetness flavor in my diet.

I’ll keep filling you in on what I am doing and on my daily weight loss or gain. Remember, losing weight is about calories and exercise. I know better and should never have let myself get this heavy. shame on me!

Dinner October 2 2009

Well after lunch I ate a banana because I was still hungry. Then I went out into the woods and walked 2.5 miles over our measured course. I took a lot of photos of the early fall foliage which is just fair by my standards. There’s enough color to make it interesting. It will be better here in a couple of weeks. There is a problem uploading pix to Facebook right now. When I got back from my walk I drank green tea all afternoon and worked in my office. Then for Dinner I ate a frozen Dinner 290 calories of chicken and shrimp. It was delicious. I had one small scoop of diet ice cream, and that was it. I didn’t drink anything. Later on I may have a diet soda. I would rather have a glass of wine, but that is not going to happen. My calorie count for the day is well below 1500. If I eat any more tonight I will show it here on the blog in the morning. Remember, No sugar, no alcohol, low salt, it’s getting easier every day and I did the 2.5 miles without even getting out of breath on those steep hills we have here. I even dog trotted down one of them.

It’s truly worth the effort!

One can of diet soda an two small cookies. Still well within my 1500 calorie per day limit.
