If you are the picture of health and not a bit overweight then just ignore this blog, otherwise, read on.
5.00 AM and 2 coffees as usaual.
Weighed in at 222.0 this morning.
Some interesting news. My waist has dropped from 44 inches at the first of this month when I finally got serious about my diet to 42 inches this morning. On Jan 1 I was a 46 waist. I also forgot to mention that since I took control of my diet I have notices that I have far fewer skin problems. My motivation is that I have adopted an attitude of “Diet or Die.” We have a major obesity problem in the USA and I am a part of it. I have decided to make a correction. My doctor has warned me for the past several years that he expect me to turn up with diabetes.
Reading what I eat every day is boring, I know. Since I started the diet section of this blog I have lost two thirds of the readership! That tells me that people do not want to hear it. Well I fooled myself for a long time until my blood work indicated I was heading towards diabetes and stroke. My blood pressure went out of control. My Dad ignored the same warnings and he died from the results of a massive stroke that made a vegetable out of him. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want any part of that! You don’t have to starve yourself, just take control of what you eat. It is working for me. I have lost 13.5 pounds this month.
The basic rules are very simple.
Here is my program. No Alcohol, no fatty fast foods, no sugar, low salt, keep your calorie intake under 1500 a day, drink lots of water or green tea. Green tea is better for losing weight, and very healthy. I drink about two quarts a day. Try to walk at least a mile every day. Two miles is even better. Walking burns more calories than jogging, or bike riding. Eat prunes and other fruit to keep things moving through your system. That is very important. That’s all there is to it if you are really serious about weight loss. You should start to feel better almost immediately.
Breakfast An English muffin with light cream cheese, and jelly on it, 1/2 a banana, six stewed prunes. small glass of milk.
Lunch We went to New Hampshire to visdit our son Dave and ate in a Chinese Restaurant, Oh boy, here we go! Actually, I had a cup of the sweet and sour soup and two vegetable rolls, and a diet coke. On the way home, I had a large Duncan Donut Coffee light with two sugars. That’s the first sugar I have had in a month.
I did not eat dinner
Hi Madison,
Thank you very much for commenting, and also in a positive manner. I received a rather nasty comment this morning, but I think the person doing the commenting is really more angry at him self rather than at me. My program works for me and I’m really not pushing it. I am sharing it. Thanks again for commenting, Walt
