
3 AM I went to bed early last night (7 PM) after an exhausting day. Now I’m up and having coffee at 3 AM and feeling great!
I would like to emphasize a point I have briefly touched on before. I have decided that I really do not like the term “diet.” It is really not just a diet. It is a “life style change.” I say this because the term diet implies that there may be an end to it. I don’t see it ever ending as if you stop controlling your caloric intake the weight is just going to start piling on again. I find that the longer I stick with it the less tempting it is to go back to my old habits which I can only characterize as terrible! I think my poor doctor gave up on me years ago. I can’t say that I can blame him either. I also think that if you have health concerns especially, that no matter how many times you fail you should not give up. In 1998 I finally quit smoking after several hundred attempts. It was the most difficult thing I ever did, but I finally did it! You know what they say, “The spirit is strong, but the flesh is weak.” I don’t know who first said it, but they were surely correct.
I Want to share a comment with you I received this morning. It makes the effort of keeping this public diary worth while.
